Where to Stay in Austin

If you're considering your options for places to stay in Austin, you'll be happy to know that your choices are many. Most of us go for mid range priced hotels. While other's who are on a budget tend to go for budget hotels.

Budget Hotels
There are plenty of economical lodging options. Perhaps you don’t plan to spend much time in your room. Or maybe you'd rather spend your cash on souvenirs and dining. I know some people who would never dream of spending more than 90 bucks a night on a hotel room. While others will shell out hundreds. For some all that matters is that the lodging is safe, comfortable, and sanitary. After all you don't have to stay in a five star hotel to have a good time in Austin.

Downtown Austin Hotels
Downtown Austin has some very ritzy lodging spots. The hotels in this area offer both luxury and location. Like most major cities the downtown Austin area is a great place to say if you plan to do a lot of sight seeing and dining on foot. It's pretty easy to find your way around the 6th area, the warehouse district, and other crazy places around the area.

Bed and Breakfasts
Austin has a wide variety of bed and breakfasts. More often than not these are privately owned homes with just a few bedrooms available for stays. The best ones of course offer private bathrooms, or in-suite bathrooms. Some homes have private bedrooms with a bathroom which is shared with other guests. Breakfast is served in the bedroom, a dining room, or the host's kitchen.

Luxury Spa Hotels
I've been itching to try some of the newer Austin Texas Spa Resorts. There are several that have opened arounf the area. At the top of my list is the Lake Austin Spa Resort and the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines.

Austin Hostels
Austin's Hostel is located on Town Lake's waterfront. The cost is a little less than 30 bucks. The cost includes linens and internet access. Features include central air central heat and lockers in each room.
