Downtown Austin Texas

Downtown Austin is the heartbeat of the city. The warehouse district is a hotspot for restaurants, entertainment, and social venues. Downtown is perfect if you’re one those who likes to be smack in the middle of the action. The hotels in the area are worth paying extra for to be in the heart of the fun and action. Here are a few of the hotels located in the midst of downtown's activity districts.

LaQuinta Austin Capital
The first hotel to consider is the LaQuinta Austin Capital. Its rather small with only 150 or so rooms and five suits. But none of that matters when you’re just a few steps away from the Capital, UT and the Bob Bullock Museum. LaQuinta Austin Capital is located at 300 11th Street. Phone number (512) 476-1166.

Sheraton Austin Hotel
I just drove past the other day and it’s an absolutely beautiful hotel. The best part is that it’s close to UT campus, the Capital, the warehouse district, and 6th street. Price-wise its not bad compared to the luxury hotels in the downtown Austin area. The hotel is located at 11th and Highway 35.

Doubletree Hotel Suites
Located within walking distance of UT and convenient to IH 35, but not as close to Austin attractions as the LaQuinta or Sharaton. Still it’s in the vicinity and a great option for a downtown stay. The Doubletree is located at 303 West 15th street. Phone number (512) 478-7000.

Omni Hotel Downtown
Gorgeous views and a heated roof top swimming pool. It’s luxurious and convenient. The Omni has always been a favorite for visitors and locals. It’s located at 700 San Jacinto Street. Phone number (512) 467- 3700

Downtown Driskill Hotel
Probably the most elegant of downtown hotels, the Driskill is close to the Convention Center, downtown shopping, and dining. If you want the royal treatment, the Driskill is the way to go. The hotel is located at 604 Brazos Street. Phone number (512) 474-5911.
